Whatcha think of the Windsor? I played one a bit a GC awhile back and thought it did a good job of getting straight up rock like ACDC. I thought it sounded good and wish I could play one with my own guitar. At first I thought I could really dig it. Basically the SAME arguement I have with myself about marshalls, particularly the jcm 800. Not enough gain and afraid I would get bored of having just that one sound.. But, the 800s have produced most of my favorite songs and have some extremely heavy recorded tones.
I think that it may actually improve my playing to get something more straight ahead like this. So I can learn to get more variance from my playing and not the amp.. Also, since the Windsors can be had now for $399, maybe this would be a cheap way to satisfy my marshall crave..
Any one have any thoughts or experience with Windsors??

I had one these amps for like 4 hours, returned it the same day.. horrible amp , it sounds nothing like a JCM800.. very fizzy and undefined.. noisy too. I like most peavey amps (currently playing the Ultra Plus) but this one is the exception.

I played one for about an hour today and it was quiet and didnt seem fizzy at all.. Very tempting.. Then, I played a $3500 hughes and Kettner and fell in love....
