Ok, been playing my LP more lately, eagerly anticipating the receipt of my Suhr pickup for her... Ive noticed what I believe is a grounding issue. Neck pup is fine.. silent until strummed. Switch to bridge pup and I can immediately sense the strings are alive. Touch the strings and get crackles and pops.. So, when I wire in my new pickup, do you think I can eliminate this if I do the pots direct wiring, without the metal plate as discussed on the Les paul standard thread?? Any other tips??

if the neck pickup is fine the problem is either on the bridge pickup wire or the grounding for the bridge pickup. If it's the wire, replacing the pickup will solve the issue,... if it doesn't make sure the grounding is correctly and look for bad solder joints.
