Carvin guitars are very well made but they normally sound very sterile to my taste. The CT is no exception. I love their amps though.

The wood, build and finish of most of Carvin's offerings are top shelf - their pups don't do it for me, though.

can't you just swap pups or is routing the cavity required?

G....y'think it's them weird looking pickups? Well they sure are crappy but I've played a few Carvins with changed pickups and it didn't help much. Carvin uses 2 graphite rods to "reinforce" their necks and I suspect they're the culprit....

that is what has been deemed to cause the deadness. Ive had plain old Carvins that were awesome and I had a 2004 or 5 that was amazing looking, but dead and bland. Its the double rods.. I have heard that they had done away with these recently to resolve this complaint.. If that is fact, Id love to have another.. Contact them or search thier BB
