I recently made the mistake of playing a Gibson V at guitar sinister.. Man, what a ripping axe! Ive thought that one would make a good set along with the LP and the Explorer but was mainly thinking eye candy... Dang, I was ripping on the thing.. Upper fret access was a no brainer.. This one was a faded and Id played some fadeds before that I thought were made by children.. This was a jewel.. However, I sure do like the look of the finished ones better. Are there any difference other than the finish and about $400??

no other differences. I love mine. Oh there is also the case.. no hardshell case for the faded.. not that big of a deal though.
Have you seen the videos I made with mine??

I can't say on the V, but I played a faded LP Special a few months back at a guitar center, and I couldn't put it down. It was like 699.00 I think. Nothing else I picked up that day compared. I've always thought Vs looked cool, but at my age...I sit down more than I stand up.

Is the Gibson logo on the truss rod cover the only place the guitar has the Gibson logo?
I wish they would make a faded Firebird and sell those for a $400. I'd get one and get it refinished in white.
I think a white V would look cool too.
(You can tell I don't play much anymore as I focus on the color of guitars . . . pathetic . . .)
Not to hijack this thread, but anyone have real experience with a Firebird? They are the coolest lookin' guitars to me but I hear a lot of grunts when I ask people about 'em: neck is too thin at the nut and therefore fragile, big and strangely balanced, etc.

Oh, BTW, I came by my diminished interest in guitars honestly. We had our second child in June 12th. This time a boy! I'm livin' the life of diaper changes, spit ups, and sleep deprivation, yet the grass is still greenest under my feet But seriously, and I know I'm biased, but my two kids are pretty darn cute and funny. Life is good. Now if only this Valley heat would pass already, then my world would be near perfect. G, how are you dealing with this heat?
