I see that one of our brothers here is going through a gear purge. Good idea. I need to do the same. But on a truly superficial and materialistic level, there's some shallow satisfaction from owning a lot of stuff, even if you don't use it. Not just guitar related stuff either. Like for example, for my wife it's books. She would say that she just doesn't have the time to read 'em all. Which is true. She reads every night.

yeah I hear you, I've been thinking of selling some of my stuff, but I agree it feels good to own a lot of stuff even if you don't use it all...
I only need 2 guitars, my amp and effects and maybe a small practice amp. But I still like to have all the extra stuff.. most of it is collecting dust though

What I'm down to ... Four guitars (Strat, Thinline, Tele, Vendetta), four amps (GA5 8"/5w, Champster Special 10"/5w, Li'l Prince 12"/5w, Super Rosco 15"/35w). That's it. No more. Honest. The Strat and Thinline get the most use and I could easily live with just those two. I could also pare it down to two amps, the Champster and Prince. If I HAD to have one guitar and amp, it'd be the Thinline and Prince. What about an acoustic guitar? Nah, no thanx. I'm way over that .... for now.

No acoustic? I don't think I can live like that. To me, they are two different beasts that satisfy different needs. Therefore, I need both, even if they are el cheaparonis.
