Sadly, Peaveys get no respect. people dont buy them for that reason. I think these are pretty nice amps.. Not super versatile, but do ACDC and raw punk like champs!! I almost bought a head a couple months ago for $325 and that was a deal.. 499 for a half stack?? wow!! must resist... torture

Gmello should share his story. He actually ordered one. Sadly, Peaveys get no respect. Funny, I said the exact same thing the other night to someone whom was looking into electric guitar playing. It's bad for the company, but I bet you can find some awesome deals on some nice sounding amps in the used market because of it.

While I DO like most Peavey amps, this is one of their amps I don't like. Very buzzy with a flubby low end. It's also very noisy and it doesn't clean up properly when you turn down the guitar volume. I bought one a few months ago and returned it the same day. Their other cheap head, the Valveking, is a much better amp.

It's gone down from $500 when I first started this thread to $400. Might be worth ordering to tinker around with modifications, if you knew anything about amps. I predict a cult following around this amp in line with the Epiphone Valve Jr. and the Squier '51.

$4 a watt. Not bad. Who cares about tone, the audience will be deaf with that amp cranked.
