I couldn't pass it up. You guys know how I have always wanted a Firebird. Well, this is a Firebird but not exactly the kind I originally desired. It's a recent production of a non-reverse Firebird. It kinda looks like a tamed version of the Jazzmaster/Jaguar shape. The neck is set-in and not a neck-thru. Unlike non-reverse Firebirds I've seen before, this one comes with two full-size humbuckers, I think Burstbuckers #2 and #3. It's a Custom Shop from 2002/3. Pretty big neck. I'm still getting accustomed to its sound so I can't say anything about it yet. I need to change strings too. I'll post pics when I take some.

sounds like the one Warren Haynes was playing about then. I seriously wanted one, but overcame the craving.
They look like cool guitars.

I've been wanting the firebird studio I wouldn't be surprised if construction-wise, it's similar to an Explorer. And you said the Explorer sounded just like the Flying V. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if the Firebird Studio sounded like your V. I just checked MF and they seem to no longer offer the Gibson Firebird Studio. But there's an Epiphone version with a set-in neck for $400. Otherwise, there's that same Gibson Firebird Studio that's been on Craigslist forever for $875.
