I am in the process of fixing up my Tele, which is really an '80s MIJ Tokai.
The current pots are normal pots wired lefty, which means the tone pot does nothing since it is an audio taper (log) pot. I want to make the controls turn righty and install a 4-way switch. The pickups are both aftermarket pickups (Rio Grande and I forget the other), so I think those will stay.
I want to install the 4-way to give me more of a humbucker-aggressive sound when I need it.

What I meant to say is "how ELSE would you mod tele"? I already know that I am adding a 4-way switch.

Brass compensated saddles? You can buy higher quality hardware (bridge plate, knurled knobs, neck plate, tuners) for everything but really I don't think you'll hear the difference. If you keep modding, you'll end up with a totally different guitar from what you started with. LOL I would stop after what you're doing now. Save for another guitar.

The tele actually has a brass nut and already has knurled knobs! Why would you change a neck plate? The tuners are good enough for me. I was thinking of changing the pickguard, but I do not know if normal Tele pickguard will fit an '80s Tokai Breezysound.
And I am somewhat done with buying guitars. So far this year, I have sold two guitars: my Rickenbacker 330 and my Danelectro U2. I also will be selling my MIA Strat and others when I have time. Love all my guitars, but I have become more of a collector than a player, and it is time to simplify.
BTW, where should I get the 4-way switch from? Is there a recommended brand and/or store?
