Thanx for sharing all this, lefty.
I'm so insecure about my own playing - even back when I was regularly practicing - that I always raved on about being in the studio and doing my own thing, rather than trying to join a band or start one up.
The path I took has had some good times, but I often wonder if I had been less precious about other people's opinions when I was younger, I may have had a better chance of doing something more constructive with my ideas on music.
Being pushed into the spotlight when I was a boy by my parents (doing ballroom dancing of all things!) did turn me off the whole idea of working on a 'show'.
So I'm kinda envious of people who can play well enough to entertain folks, and have a good time at the same time.
